Banner Graphic: What's different about being a senior this year?

Katelyn Lady: I feel like I have more a a leader type of position. I like that. I've always felt younger and I felt that you had to be older to be a leader. I just like being in that position and being able to lead.

BG: What's your favorite sport to play? Why?

KL: Basketball. I just like the game. I like the intensity of it.

BG: Who are some of your best friends on the team?

KL: Ariel (Higgins) and Emily (Dobson). I get along with everybody. I hang out with everybody a lot.

BG: What can sports teach you about life?

KL: Just to work hard and you'll eventually achieve what you want. You have to go for it and give it all you've got. That's what I've learned.

BG: Who inspires you in your personal life to do well?

KL: My mom is a great inspiration to me. I look up to her a lot. I just always have. I know it's tough being a mom sometimes and I probably make it tough on her.

BG: What was your favorite memory of the South Putnam team?

KL: My freshman year when the varsity won county. It was so inspiring to watch them win. It was exciting for them and now I want to be able to do that. I liked that.

BG: What are your goals after high school?

KL: I want to go to college. I'm looking at USI and Marian right now. I want to be a physical education teacher/health and I want to be a coach.

BG: Why do you want to be a teacher and coach?

KL: I like sports and I like physical education. I like everything to do with it. My coaches have inspired me so I think that it would be a good experience to be a coach.
