North Putnam staging 'Butler Did It, Again!' this Friday, Saturday

Thursday, November 6, 2014
Ghoulish author Ruth Dice (Samantha Flannelly, left) chats with Miss Maple (Sky Myers) in a scene from the North Putnam High School production of "The Butler Did It, Again!" Staged both Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7-8, the play will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the high school.

The North Putnam High School Thespian Troupe will present "The Butler Did It, Again!" for the NPHS fall play this weekend, Nov. 7-8.

The play will be performed in the high school auditorium, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the door at $5 for all ages.

The play is Tim Kelly's follow-up to his "The Butler Did It." This time Miss Maple (Sky Myers), a mystery novel publisher, rents Spanish Moss out in the bayou country of New Orleans, intending to introduce her newest and ghoulish author, Ruth Dice (Samantha Flannelly), at her murder mystery party.

Returning are her classic detective writers, tough Chandler Marlow (Josh Coulter), chic Manhattan couple Rick (Jacob Riggen) and Laura (Rachel Moore) Carlyle, westerner Tony Tallchief (Brody Downey), gentle Sister White (Lauren Fisher), and the full of dreadful aphorisms Louie Fan (Cameron Wunderlich).

With the help of her staff, social secretary Jane Doe (Haley Wilson), housekeeper Miss Danvers (Alexandra Moore), and the Butler (Alexander Moore) they are set for the perfect weekend. Until the bizarre owner of the house of secrets, Jasper Van Dine, is discovered in the parlor with a scalpel once belonging to Jack the Ripper in his back and the whodunit is under way.
