Annual Ridpath Pancake Supper on menu for Thursday

Sunday, November 9, 2014

Ridpath Primary School will host its annual Pancake Supper on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5:30-8 p.m. and the Greencastle/Putnam County community is invited to attend.

Originally, the Pancake Supper was held on election night with local politicians cooking the pancakes and serving the supper while they waited for election results. Contests also used to be held among the Ridpath students on who could sell the most tickets for the supper.

Although those traditions may have passed, the tradition of offering "all-you-can-eat pancakes" continues with some new traditions starting.

Ridpath students will provide musical entertainment according to grade level in the gym throughout the evening.

Several classrooms will have carnival games for kids to play and local author Troy Cummings will be on hand to sign copies of his latest children's book in his "Notebook of Doom" series. There will also be a book fair available in the media center for parents to purchase new books for their children.

Additionally, a silent auction will run throughout the evening with proceeds benefiting the Ridpath PTO to help fund school projects.

Tickets for this year's supper will be available at the door. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12. Anyone under age three may eat for free.

Ridpath Primary School is located at 711 S. Central Ave. in Greencastle.
