CLOVERDALE -- Early Tuesday, the Putnam County Dispatch Center received an anonymous call about possible drug activity occurring at a Main Street residence in Cloverdale.

Indiana State Police Trooper Jonathan Cumbie and Cloverdale Police Sgt. Charlie Hallam and his K-9 partner "Chewy" were subsequently sent to 351 N. Main St. to investigate at 1:47 a.m.

The residence appeared abandoned, authorities said, but signs of possible drug activity were reportedly visible.

Officers then noticed a man fitting the description of the suspect walk behind an adjacent building and out view of police.

Cumbie and Hallam located the male at a 123 Water St. residence. Further investigation revealed the suspect, Michael Isbill, 29, Cloverdale, was in possession of less than one gram of suspected methamphetamine and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Isbill, who was taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Indiana State Police officials remind area residents that tips of any nature can play a vital role in suppression of criminal activity.

Anyone wishing to report suspected criminal or drug activity may call the Putnamville Post at 653-4114.

The Putnamville Post serves the six counties of Putnam, Parke, Clay, Vermillion, Vigo and Sullivan counties.
