Jack Austin Anderson, 83, St. Louis, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1930 in Brazil, Ind.

He spent his youthful years in a community called Bee Ridge, near Brazil. His family moved to Indianapolis and Jack went to technical high school for two to three years. He developed great woodworking skills.

He graduated from Fillmore High School and then went to Coyne Electronic School in Chicago.

Jack joined the Navy with continued education in the electronic field. Upon return, with the help of the GI Bill, Jack attended Purdue University and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.

He was hired by Martin Marietta and worked with them on the East Coast and in Florida. Most of his career was with McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis which later became Boeing Aircraft.

Jack has been a Putnam County landowner for approximately 35 years.

Those who knew Jack know that he loved to sing and dance -- that was part of his joyful spirit. In addition, he loved reading and he was a lifelong learner.

Jack was the son of Leo and Ethel Genevieve Anderson. His siblings were Emily Charlotte Smock (90) in Camarillo, Calif.; Maude Elizabeth Painter (deceased); Joe Vincent Anderson (deceased); and L. Jean Baughn (73) in West Chester, Ohio.

Jack is survived by one daughter, Genevieve Anderson Stransky, and her husband, Todd Stransky, as well as their children, Alexandra, Madeline, Olivia and Danielle.

Visitation is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17 at Buchholz Funeral Home in Florrissant, Mo

Graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery.
