Gregory E. Shotts, 55, of Indianapolis, formerly of Linton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014.

Greg was born Sept. 18, 1959, the son of the late Gordon Shotts and Julialene (Cooksey) Scott.

After serving his country with the United States Army, he was honorably discharged.

Greg worked at Coal Inc. in Dugger and Black Beauty Coal Mine in Farmersburg. Most recently, he was an operator engineer for Local 841 out of Terre Haute, building Interstate 69 and repairing Interstate 70.

Greg married Teresa Shotts on Oct. 3, 2008.

Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, washing his truck, watching basketball and the Denver Broncos. His greatest pride was spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Shotts; children Nicole Shotts (Brett Peppin), Megan Templin (Trevor), Robert Moore (Felicia), Libby Reed (Damon), Jaclynn Moore (Montel Smith); siblings Brad Shotts, Chris Scott (Julie), Keith Scott (Karen), Beth Duncan, Sam Roberts (Tony), Tina Sheese, Danuel, Samuel (Susie) and Terry Haney; mother-in-law Phoebe Kidwell; nine grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil.

Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
