Special War Radio show to support local startup business

Sunday, November 16, 2014

Local band War radio will be bringing some Bruce Springsteen classics to Greencastle on Friday to help a local man trying to start a business downtown.

The Friday Nov. 21 Concert for Wasser will take place at 8 p.m. at The Fluttering Duck in The Inn at DePauw. Money raised will help Chris Weeks in his attempt to open a brewpub in Greencastle called Wasser Beer Company.

Rather than play a conventional set, War Radio has decided to play a full set of tunes by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to make the show extra special.

To replicate the E Street Band's signature sound, War Radio has invited guest musicians Veronica Pejril on piano and Spencer Schillerstrom on saxophone.

The duo will join regulars Joel Everson (guitar, vocals), Tosh Everson (organ, vocals), Drew Cooper (drums) and Dennis Furr (bass).

The evening will open with a solo show from Gus Moon, followed by the HausKatz, whose lineup is Steve Michael on guitar, Bill Hamm on bass, Carol Hamm on vocals, Rick Provine on drums and Pejril on keys.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m.-midnight show.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and available at www.warradio.us or by emailing warradiobooking@gmail.com. All ticket sales go to the opening of the Wasser Beer Company.
