Three men who have previously served Putnam County as Extension agriculture and natural resources educators were recognized at the recent Purdue Extension Putnam County annual meeting. Mark Legan (left), State Rep. Jim Baird (center) and Charlie Felkner were all honored. The centennial of Extension nationwide that began with the signing of the Smith Lever Act on May 8, 1914 was celebrated at the annual meeting. Putnam County's first Extension office was founded in 1917 and was located in the Courthouse.
