Mary Lou (O'Hair) Jarrett

Mary Lou (O'Hair) Jarrett, 86, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at Community Hospital East.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1928 in Putnam County, the daughter of Marion and Mae (Keyt) O'Hair. Mary married Harold E. Jarrett on Oct. 25, 1947 in Indianapolis.

She loved her family and children and enjoyed being a housewife. She was in the Peace Corps from 1985-1987 in Papua New Guinea. She was a member of Mohawk United Methodist Church and loved to garden, work with flowers, crochet, quilt, cook and antiques.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Harold E. Jarrett of Greenfield; sons David L. (Susie) Jarrett of Warsaw and Kevin J. (Sheri) Jarrett of Greenfield; daughters, Deborah K. (Tim) Robinson of Morristown and Janet S. Addison of Bloomington; brothers Gale O'Hair and Max O'Hair, both of Greencastle; sister Elva Porter of Bainbridge; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Mae (Keyt) O'Hair; brothers, Andrew O'Hair, Dwight O'Hair and Robert O'Hair; baby son, Thomas L. Jarrett; and grandson Adam Jarrett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation. Reverend Woody Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mohawk United Methodist Church, 2045 W. CR 400 North, Greenfield, IN 46140 or Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation of Indiana, 964 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46204, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
