Seven county players make honorable mention all-state

Seven Putnam County athletes made the honorable mention lists of the Indiana all-state football teams released Thursday by the Associated press.

Greencastle led the way, with three players named to three spots on the Class 3A honorable mention.

Senior Nate Tesmer led the way for the Tiger Cubs, selected as both a tight end and a defensive linemen. He was joined by fellow seniors Zach Secrest at linebacker and Sedrick Weinschenk at kicker.

South Putnam, with its potent offense, placed three offensive players on Class A honorable mention list.

Senior running back Lucas Lorian made the cut, joined by fellow senior tight end Zane Yon. Junior Joe Masters also made the list at offensive lineman.

North Putnam placed one representative on the Class 2A honorable mention in junior quarterback Brad Hodges.

The athletes are selected based on input from Indiana media and coaches.
