Community Cantata Choir to present 'Christmas Canticles'

A community cantata choir, representing six local churches, will be presenting two Greencastle performances of "Christmas Canticles" by Benjamin Harlan.

The first performance is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Simpson St. (corner of Locust and Seminary streets).

The second performance is slated for 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 653 S. County Road 100 East (Round Barn Road).

The 45-minute cantata performances are free and open to

the public.

Director of music and accompanist for the annual cantata is Cheryl Beck with Anna Gatdula as choir director.

Narrators for the program include Hattie Blair and Aaron Zell on Saturday and Leeann Sausser and Zell on Sunday.

Soloists for the cantata program will be Dallas Gray and Julia Massicotte.

DePauw University instrumentalists providing additional music for the performances include Allison Emata (violin), Peter Lockman (cello) and Eleanor Price (flute).
