Sheriff's Department

Two recent property-damage accidents were investigated by Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies.

* At 4:44 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, Kelly L. Stevens, 36, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, was eastbound on I-70 when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle due to the road conditions.

Stevens advised that her 1998 Ford Explorer impacted with the cable barrier near the 44-mile marker causing it to roll into the median.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 5:27 a.m., Nicholas D. Wilkerson, 25, St. Charles, Mo., was westbound on I-70 near the 46-mile marker.

Wilkerson advised Deputy Turner that he lost control of his 2003 Ford Expedition due to slick road conditions and speed and the vehicle struck a bridge barrier wall.

Damage was listed at $2,501-$5,000.

City Police

One recent property-damage accident was investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, a one-vehicle mishap was reported on County Road 525 East.

Jamie Brown, 36, Sullivan, was reportedly southbound, driving a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van when the vehicle went off the pavement and struck a tree, Officer Albert Epple reported.

It was uncertain whether the early morning accident was caused by the driver being drowsy or unfamiliar with the roadway.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Two recent traffic citations were also reported by Greencastle officers.

* At 4:56 a.m. Dec. 18, Jeremy Hyde, 31, Greensburg, was ticketed for speeding by Officer Kyle Lee.

Hyde was stopped on Bloomington Street at the entrance to Ottawa Mobile Home Park for 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 11:55 p.m. Dec. 13, Colten Giberson, 17, Greencastle, was cited for speeding by Officer Eric Vaughan.

Giberson was ticketed for 59 mph in a 30-mph zone on Fillmore Road.
