Commissioners and council approve 2015 meeting dates

The Putnam County Commissioners and Putnam County Council approved their 2015 meeting dates recently at the final meeting of the year for the respective boards.

Meeting dates and times unchanged, with a few individual exceptions, from recent years.

The commissioners meet twice a month, on the first and third Mondays. The first Monday meeting is at 9 a.m., with the third Monday meeting at 6 p.m.

At this point there are four exceptions in 2015:

* Tuesday, Jan. 20, 9 a.m. (moved for Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

* Monday, July 20, 9 a.m. (earlier in day for Putnam County Fair)

* Tuesday, Sept. 8, 9 a.m. (moved for Labor Day)

* Monday, Nov. 16, 9 a.m. (no explanation given)

There are no exceptions to the 2015 meetings of the Putnam County Council, with each meeting taking place at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month.

The council will meet for budget hearings in late summer or early fall, at a date and time to be determined later.
