Tracking It Slow

Sunday, January 4, 2015

It was slow going Sunday afternoon in Greencastle and all over Putnam County as a string of vehicles makes its way south along U.S. 231 (North Jackson Street), crossing the railroad tracks at a snail's pace just north of Shadowlawn Avenue. With barely enough snow to cover the roadway, it proved slick nonetheless as winds whipped up the snow and traffic pounded into an icy glaze. Authorities said the worst spots in the area were along the Interstate 70 corridor between the 37- to 43-mile marker, a couple miles either direction from the Cloverdale exit at the 41-mile marker.
