Law Enforcement Appreciation

Sunday, January 11, 2015
With Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on Thursday, Jan. 8, Cathy Proctor's second-grade class at Roachdale Elementary School decided to recognize the sheriff's deputies in Putnam County. Proctor invited Sheriff Scott Stockton to class on Thursday to present a poster, and 18 individual thank-you cards to the anonymous county deputies, thanking them for their continued service and dedication. While visiting the class, Stockton spoke to the children about the importance of making good choices and following the direction of their parents and teachers at all times. He also promised the kids he would return in the spring and let them see the police car while bringing them candy. The sheriff hung the poster and cards in the squad room, reminding the deputies of the appreciation of some of the county's youngest residents. (Courtesy photo)
