C BAR C to host truck and tractor pull this weekend

Monday, January 19, 2015

CLOVERDALE -- The National Tractor Pullers Association will sanction a new indoor tractor and truck pull at the C Bar C Expo Center in Cloverdale on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23-24. The facility has room for a 300-plus foot track and will play host to three NTPA Grand National Invitational classes, including Super Stock Diesel Tractors, Pro Stock Tractors and Two Wheel Drive Trucks.

The top competitors from last year's Grand National Circuit will be invited to battle for their share of over $38,000 in purse money. Twelve competitors per class are slated to participate in the event, which begins at 7 p.m. both evenings.

"We look forward to this great event that will certainly energize NTPA pulling fans looking for winter time pulling action in the Midwest," WPI President/CEO David P. Schreier said. "It has been a while since NTPA has sanctioned an indoor pulling event, but we feel that the necessary room and support is offered at the impressive C Bar C Expo Center to make such an endorsement. To have a permanent, regulation track built into the floor of the facility is certainly a big plus, as is the length of the arena and the ability to pit all the equipment inside.

"This is a step toward meeting a demand of NTPA's fans and pullers, to venture back into facilities that will accommodate the safety parameters to host an NTPA event indoors.

Owner Carl Harlan said bringing a tractor pull to C Bar C has been a goal of his.

"Ever since we bought this facility, I've really wanted to have a tractor pull," C Bar C Expo Center owner Carl Harlan. "I have been going to tractor pulls since I was five or six years old. When I was 12, we started going to the Indy Super Pull. I went to Purdue University and was on the Boilermaker Tractor Pull committee for two years. I've been around the sport for a long time and the C Bar C family is excited to host the first NTPA indoor event in 20 years."

Tickets for the event are $25 at the door. Pre-sale tickets will be available for $22 after on the NTPA Webmall at www.ntpapull.com. Fans can also purchase advance tickets at O'Reilly Auto Parts Stores nationwide.
