Lego birthday bash set Sunday at City Hall

Thursday, January 22, 2015

The Lego Building Block was born on Jan. 28, 1958, and to commemorate that day, the Greencastle Park and Recreation Department is throwing an early birthday party.

The Brickmania event is set for 1-5 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Jan. 25 at City Hall, 1 N. Locust St.

Participants will help celebrate the birthday of the Lego Building Block with special Lego collections, Lego train layouts and hands-on activities, including the Lego sports games of basketball and soccer, kits to build, books to flip through, as well as the opportunity to free-build with the department's assortment of building blocks piled high on City Hall's floor.

Past program kits and "Build Your Own Mini-Figures" will be available for purchase.

The Brickmania: Birthday Bash event is free, however, donations are welcome and will be used to replenish the department's collection of building blocks.

And since it is a birthday party, cake and ice cream will be served.

For more information, persons may contact the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department at 653-3395.
