City Police

Five recent citations were isued by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 2:22 p.m. Tuesday, Kimberly Pattison, 41, Poland, was cited at the Putnam County Jail by Officer Jeff Modlin.

Pattison was issued a citation for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

* At 9:41 p.m. Monday, Isiah Lester, 19 Martinsville, was stopped for speeding on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

Lester was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham for 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 8:18 p.m. Jan. 23, Charles Pingleton, 29, Coatesville, was ticketed by Officer Eric Vaughan.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Pingleton was cited for having an expired license plate (September 2014).

* At 4:13 a.m. Jan. 23, Nelson Bargue, 36, Indianapolis, was cited for speeding by Reserve Officer David Clodfelter.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road near Judson Drive, Bargue was ticketed for 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 10:20 p.m. Jan. 22, William Overman, 48, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Eastham.

Stopped at Shadowlawn and College avenues, Overman was ticketed for having an expired license plate (August 2014)

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to six medical assists and numerous dispatches recently.

* At 8:43 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to smoking at 208 E. Olive St.

* At 6:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, GFD was called to a fire alarm at 25 Putnam Plaza. Cause of the alarm was unknown.

* At 9:55 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, GFD responded to a cat stuck in a tree at 701 Toddson Dr.

* At 4:21 p.m. Friday, Jan 23, GFD was dispatched to a fire alarm triggered by hair straightener at 208 E. Olive St.

* At 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, GFD was called to 800 S. College Ave. for a fire alarm triggered by shower steam.

* At 3:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, GFD was dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm due to cooking.

* At 2:14 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, GFD responded to a possible structure fire at 310 W. Washington St. but upon arrival, found that the alarm had been triggered by burning food.

* At 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, GFD was called to 13 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm due to burnt popcorn.

* At 2:09 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, GFD was called to 504 E. Seminary St. for a fire alarm that was due to a candle burning on the second floor.

* At 7:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, GFD was called to 414 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm due to cooking on the second floor.
