LITTLE POINT -- A one-vehicle accident on icy Interstate 70 Monday morning resulted in injuries to a mother and daughter from Avon.

Indiana State Police at Putnamville reported that a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Madison Brock, 17, was westbound in the passing lane of the interstate just after 8 a.m. when the young driver lost control of the vehicle on an ice-covered stretch of roadway just east of the Putnam-Morgan county line.

The vehicle reported spun off the north side of the roadway near the 51-mile marker, 10 miles east of Cloverdale, coming to rest in a small grove of trees.

Impact with the trees totaled the Avalanche and resulted in injury to the driver and her passenger, her mother Tina Brock, 42.

Madison Brock suffered head and facial injuries, while Tina Brock incurred hand and facial injuries as a result of the accident, Indiana State Police Sgt. Angie Hahn reported.

The Brocks were transported Hendricks Regional Health where they were treated and released about noon Monday.
