Humane Society appreciates support

To the Editor:

I'd like to take this time to thank all the supporters and members of the Humane Society of Putnam County.

Thank you to all of our great volunteers who work so hard at Rescued Treasures and to loyal customers.

Profits from the store go to such projects as our no-cost spay/neuter and are low-cost microchip programs that we provide for the residents of Putnam County.

The biggest portion of our profits go toward the animal shelter in accordance with our agreement with the county to donate a set amount of dollars each year to purchase medical supplies, pay veterinary expenses and provide the salary for the vet tech at the shelter.

We also appreciate everyone's patience as we are working with the county to get the animal shelter repaired, remodeled and up to code for the animals and the public.
