Calvin K. 'Sonny' McKamey

Calvin K. ("Sonny") McKamey, 83, of Cloverdale, passed away Saturday, Feb. 14. 2015 in Plainfield surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 15, 1931 in Putnam County. He was the son of the late Ira Calvin and Lola Merle (Coffman) McKamey and his stepmother Anita McKamey.

He married Fay Jean McKamey on Oct. 21, 1950, and she preceded him in death Sept. 13, 2014.

He worked for IBM Corp. in Greencastle, retiring after 33 years, and was a real estate appraiser for 25 years.

He attended and was a member of the Clay City Church of Christ.

He is survived by his children, Ronald and wife Rebecca McKamey, Cloverdale, Connie and husband Rudy Duran, Plainfield, Julie McKamey, Cloverdale, and Joseph and wife Dee McKamey, Brazil; one sister, Delores Barr; brother Herchel and wife Diane McKamey; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife of 64 years and his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Renos and Wayne McKamey; three sisters, Trillis, Ila Jane and Wanda Jean; and a grandson.

Services for Mr. McKamey will be conductedd at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18.
