ROCKVILLE--The Clover boys' basketball team used a complete team game to overcome Rockville on the road Tuesday, 78-76.

While Rockville shot well throughout, scoring 24 in the first quarter and 16 in the second, Cloverdale was able to use its defense to keep an advantage advantage.

"We were able to get 25 turnovers," Clover assistant coach Patrick Rady said. "Even though they shot over 60 percent we were able to create turnovers. We wanted to force them into tough plays and our players were able to do that."

Clover freshman Jalen Moore led the way defensively with five steals. He also went 4-5 from long range.

Late in fourth the game was still in the balanced as both teams managed to put up points but in the end Cloverdale was able to make the right decisions.

"We did an outstanding job executing late," Rady said. "We were able to get the shots we wanted and we were able to knock them down. Then we managed to get some defensive stops and hit some free throws."

The superb teamwork helped the Clovers to the win as they finished the game with 18 total assists, eight coming from senior Marquise Moore. He also led the team with 20 points and junior Cooper Neese scored 19.

"We moved the ball really well," Rady said. "We had 18 assists and we had four guys in double figures. We were really balanced scoring offensively and we played well together."
