A grateful thank you from Reelsville VFD

To the Editor:

The Reelsville-Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to thank those who graciously helped make possible the purchase of our new self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBAs).

We were able to upgrade our SCBAs used for operations of entry of structure fires and hazmat emergencies.

We began by contacting Jerry Johnson of Donley Fire and Safety to put a purchase package together. Next we were able to acquire funds from a memorial formed by Ronnie Cook's family and friends, along with a matching grant from the Putnam County Community Foundation and a cumulative fire fund approved by Township Trustee Pat Sheldon and the advisory board.

With these funds we purchased eight new SCBA packs and eight spare bottles.

This equipment is now in service and greatly appreciated by everyone who wears them.

Thank you for making our job a lot safer for the firefighters of Reelsville-Washington Township fire.
