Banner Graphic: What is different about being a senior on the team?

Berndt Freeman: It's a little less stress because you are just going out there to do the best you can.

BG: What was your offseason like this year?

BF: It was nice. I usually run year-round. So playing basketball was a pretty nice break. I feel a lot better than I have in a while because of that. So to get back into running I'm excited about that. I'm hoping to break a couple records this year.

BG: Who do you look up to in personal life for inspiration?

BF:I look up to God a lot. Outside of my parents, my coach (Brandon) Welti is probably one of my bigger inspirations. Then Hunter Barr, my best friend, was probably my biggest inspiration.

BG: Who are some of your best friends?

BF: I'm pretty close with Kieffer (Vittetow). A lot of guys are younger and I was close with the older guys. I'm really close with my coach because of that.

BG: What are some of your favorite memories at South Putnam?

BF: Winning county and conference in cross country last year by a good amount. That felt really good.

BG: What are your plans after high school?

BF: I'm going to go to Georgia for lineman school. Then hopefully I'll be able to come back here and work at Duke Energy. I also want to train for marathons.
