Cougars, Tiger Cubs bow out on opening night of sectional

The boys' basketball seasons for North Putnam and Greencastle ended Tuesday night, with both teams losing their respective sectional openers.

In Class 2A Sectional 44 action at Speedway High School, the Cougars fell to Monrovia 63-43.

The Cougars finish the season 3-19.

In Class 3A Sectional 27 at Danville, the Tiger Cubs lost to the host Warriors 63-36.

Greencastle closes the season with a 12-11 mark.

Cloverdale and South Putnam are the two remaining Putnam County teams. The Clovers (19-5) and Eagles (3-18) face off at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Speedway.
