County Jail

One person has been placed into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Mark Edward Crowson, 53, Evansville, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a a prior.

Sheriff's Department

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has investigated one incident recently.

* At 6:37 a.m. Alisha Bailey, 46, Greencastle, advised investigating officer Dep. James J. Boller that while she was southbound on U.S. 231, just south of U.S. 40 in a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid, a deer ran in front of the vehicle.

The deer struck the front of the vehicle, causing approximately $2,500-$5,000 of damage.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to several medical runs, lift assists and dispatches recently.

* At 7:53 a.m. Friday, GFD was called to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm triggered by excessive use of hair care products.
