Weather Preparedness is Elementary

Sunday, March 22, 2015
Red Cross representatives visited Bainbridge Elementary school earlier this month as part of an ongoing weather preparedness program from the Terre Haute chapter of the American Red Cross. The event included a puppet programs featuring weather superheroes to teach kids how to be alert for abrupt changes in weather as well as how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe during extreme weather. Students were familiarized with NOAA weather radios, items required for disaster supply kits and the importance of a safety plan in case of a disaster. The Red Cross will return to the school on April 8 to teach students about earthquake safety.
