Maxine Branneman

Maxine Branneman, 90, Clarksville, formerly of Cloverdale and Greencastle, passed away on Sunday March 29, 2015 at the Clark Memorial Hospital at Jeffersonville.

She was born on April 2, 1924 in Morgan County, and was the daughter of Walter Reuben Neese and Mary S. (Broyer) Neese.

She was married to Clarence Cleon Branneman on July 29, 1943, and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1995.

She was a retired executive secretary for Inland Container at Indianapolis and was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Betty Jo Steele and husband Dale, of Charleston, David Branneman and wife Doris, of Mitchell, and Lewis Dean Branneman and wife Ronda, of Jeffersonville; her brother, Archie Neese and wife Colleen, Inverness, Fla;, her grandchildren, Marc Wenning and wife Courtney, Burlington, Ky., Meri Jo Thorpe and husband Mark, of Hanover, Bonnie McNeely and husband Andy, Indianapolis, Daniel Branneman and wife Tiffany, Huntersville, N.C.; her great-grandchildren, Mathew Thorpe, Kristin Thorpe, Aiden Wenning, Gunner Branneman and Alexis Wenning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cleon Branneman; her parents, Walter Reuben Neese and Mary S. Neese; her daughter, Mary Lou Wenning; her sister, Mildred Pauline Neese; her brother; Wendell Lee Neese; and her sister-in-law, Shirley L. Neese.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 3 at 3 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 3 from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
