County Jail

Four people were lodged into the Putnam County Jail recently

* At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, James David Flatt, 30, Mooresville, was arrested for burglary.

* At 3:15 p.m. Jesse Ricketts, 20, Indianapolis, was booked on possession of marijuana.

* At 3:28 p.m. Ashlee Erin Nelson, 33, Greencastle, was charged with theft.

* At 6 p.m. Brian Alan Ping, 30, Roachdale, was arrested for probation violation.

City Police

Two teenagers were arrested in an alleged recent shoplifting incident at the Greencastle Walmart store, City Police report.

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dillon Levi Baker, 18, and Sarah Elizabeth McCarty, 18, both of Coatesville, were arrested for theft of a curling iron wand valued at $25.99.

Baker allegedly opened the package and removed the curling iron, which McCarty reportedly then concealed in her purse, Sgt. Charles Inman reported.

In other GPD reports, a two-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday night on Bloomington Street near Anderson Street.

The 8:02 p.m. mishap occurred as Alicia Tutini, 22, Argyle, Texas, attempted to pull out of a parking lot on the east side of Bloomingotn Street in a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox and failed to see a southbound 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Adrianna Clifford, 15, Cloverdale.

In turning left, the Equinox struck the Durango in both driver's side doors, resulting in an estimated $2,500-$5,000 damage, Officer Nick Eastham reported.

Two recent citations were written by city officers.

* At 8:59 p.m. Friday, Daniel Suggett, 52, Franklin, was cited by Officer Kyle Lee.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, just east of Judson Drive, Suggett was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

* At 6:21 p.m. March 30, Jerramy Bushong, 28, Coatesville, was stopped by Officer Lee at Wood and Washington streets.

Bushong was cited for for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department performed three medical assists and responded to three other dispatches this week.

* At 11:16 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, the GFD responded to 2200 E State Road 40 to investigate a fire alarm. No issue was found once on scene.

* At 6:20 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, the GFD went to 600 N Jackson St. to reset an alarm. The department was initially disregarded before leaving station, and was later dispatched for the reset.

* At 2:34 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, the GFD was dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. to investigate a fire alarm. The alarm was set off due to a dryer vent. The department reset the alarm.
