Dunaway's medalist performance leads DePauw to second place

Wooster, Ohio - Drake Dunaway finished the Nye Intercollegiate with a one-over par 145 to earn medalist honors and lead DePauw to a second-place team finish.

Dunaway shot an opening-round 72 and was three strokes out of the lead, but fired a 73 today and won the individual honors by one stroke over Wittenberg's John Chaney and Denison's Jimmy Slovitt.

Andrew Derringer finished in a tie for sixth with a 151, while Eric Tandy tied for 10th at 154. Stuart Alvey shot a 162 and Jackson Mihevc finished with a 164.

Playing as individuals, Ty Frost was tied for sixth with a 151 including a 71 today, while Quinn Smith tied for 18th with a 159.

DePauw shot a 611 and finished 16 strokes behind tournament champion Wittenberg which shot a 595. The second-place showing matched the Tigers best finish of the season as they also were second at the Millikin Spring Invitational.

The Tigers return to the course on April 25-26 in the first of two North Coast Athletic Conference Championship events at Apple Valley G.C. in Howard, Ohio.
