Christine Denola Christy

Christine Denola Christy, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Born March 24, 1927 in Owen County, she was the daughter of Ora C. and Bertha May (Meek) Turner Sr.

She was a 1945 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She married Wendell E. (Jake) Christy, and he preceded her in death.

Christine retired from Kroger, where she had worked as a grocery store cashier for several years.

She was a longtime member of the Greencastle Women of the Moose.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Melba Turner; nephews Tim (Brenda) Turner, Mike (Dixie) Turner and Brian (Denise) Turner; great nieces and nephews Austin Turner, Steven Turner, Kelly (Matt) Cox, Hope Turner, Tyler (Melissa) Turner, Riley Turner, Christy (Nick) Lancaster and Trisha Turner; and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Delores Shuck and Jane Franklin; and brother, Ora "Junior" Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 1 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at the Coatesville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until time of service on Friday, May 1 at the funeral home.
