Fighting the Odds

Charlotte Tanner was diagnosed with Stage III throat cancer last March, and doctors told her she might not make it to see 2015. This week she said not only is she cancer free in 2015, but she is standing up on ladders painting a mural. Tanner found out in December she was in the clear and the cancer was gone. Her first artistic effort since she started on the road to a full recovery was painting orchids on the wall of the newly renovated T&T Nail Salon in Greencastle, commissioned by owner Jimmy Lee. Since learning she has beaten the disease despite the odds, Tanner said she is going to start leaving her mark on Greencastle with her artwork. (Banner Graphic/Sabrina Westfall)
