Free R.I.L.E.Y. for Safety Program set for June 23

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

The South Putnam, North Putnam and Cloverdale FFA chapters, along with the Putnam County 4-H Junior Leaders, will be hosting an agriculture safety day at the Putnam County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, June 23.

The R.I.L.E.Y. for Safety Program event is meant to honor a member of the Putnam County 4-H Junior Leaders and South Putnam FFA member, Riley Sutherlin, who died in a farming accident last summer.

Together the organizations, his family and friends are providing a fun and educational opportunity to focus on safety.

Adults and students are invited to learn about all aspects of agriculture safety, including electricity, grain bin, chemical, large equipment and many other risks common to the agriculture industry.

Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. on June 23 with the event to start sharply at 9.

There is no cost for the program and lunch is included. Reimbursement to student organizations for bus transportation is available.

Persons may contact Amanda King at 653-9524 or aking@sputnam.k12.in.us for additional information.
