Big Walnut Baptist to host 'A day at the Oasis' June 14

Big Walnut Missionary Baptist Church will kick of VBS week on Sunday, June 14 with guests from Oasis of Hope Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Church will bring its choir and lead morning worship, featuring Oasis Pastor Frank Alexander.

Oasis of Hope Baptist Church is an African American church located near downtown Indianapolis with a long tradition of music and preaching. Oasis also sponsors many missions projects, one of which is an orphanage is Liberia.

While there is no fee for Oasis coming to Big Walnut, a free will offering will be collected with proceeds going to the orphanage.

A pitch-in dinner is planned following morning worship.

"This is a rare opportunity for cultural, racial and demographic exchange," Big Walnut Pastor Tim Gillespie said. "We invite the entire community to join us. This is an experience you won't forget."
