Lil' Sprouts program open to local youth

Sunday, June 14, 2015

Do you have a son/daughter, niece/nephew or grandchild who loves to help you garden?

If so, consider entering them in the Lil' Sprouts Program at the Putnam County Fair.

Local youth ages four through second grade are eligible to exhibit vegetables and flowers at the Putnam County Fair. They can choose to exhibit in the vegetable (cucumber, tomato, zucchini) class and/or cut flower (marigold, sunflower, zinnia) class.

Youth are allowed to exhibit one entry in each class. Entries will be accepted in Harris Hall on Sunday, July 19 from 3-5:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to stay and listen to the judge's comments once judging begins at 5:30 p.m. July 19.

More information about the Lil' Sprouts program can be found in the Harris Hall booklet which contains information about Open Class and Lil' Sprouts Horticulture exhibits.
