GREENCASTLE -- Ivy Tech Community College will launch an entrepreneurship certificate program at its Greencastle Campus this August.

The certificate, offered through the college's business administration program, is focused on creating and sustaining businesses while strengthening economic development across the region. Courses begin during the fall semester, which starts Aug. 24.

The Entrepreneurship program offers a technical certificate and a standard certificate track.

The technical certificate focuses on building conceptual and technical skills. It consists of 31 credit hours, including courses in marketing and market research, accounting and new venture development.

The standard certificate is 18 credit hours and is designed for students with knowledge of other disciplines. It includes both technical and professional courses that are industry-focused and designed for workforce preparation.

Ivy Tech's entrepreneurship program prepares individuals to create new ventures, write and implement a business plan and grow a small business. Students will study topics that will help them start a small business and take it to the next level.
