Herman Lesly Green, 83, Roachdale, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 9, 1931 to William and Lola (Taylor) Green.

Herman was first married to Lou Ella Hanks, she preceded him in death. He was then married to Barbara (Dickson) Green in 1968. They were married for 44 years.

Herman proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was a bricklayer for many years.

Herman enjoyed fishing and hunting, he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, friends and family.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; six daughters, Ronda Alexander, Roachdale, Shelly Green, Terre Haute, Tonya Bowers and Kevin Spencer, Roachdale, Tammy (Randy) Harshbarger, Crawfordsville, Kathy (John) Perkins, Jensen Beach, Fla., and Connie (Dwight) Michael, Crawfordsville; one brother, Neil; and four sisters, Norma, Cathy, Colleen and Barbara. He had 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lola Green; his first wife, Lou Ella Green; five brothers, Carl Ray, Russell, Herbert, Richard and Leon; and four sisters, Lois, Ruth, Wilma and Sue.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, Roachdale, with Pastor Matthew Scott Blau officiating.

Burial will follow with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps and American Legion at Roachdale Cemetery.

Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the viewing from 10 a.m-1 p.m. on Saturday before the funeral.
