County Jail

Seven people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 6:59 a.m. on Tuesday, Nicholas Lane Cooper, 44, Monrovia, was arrested for bond revocation.

At 1:50 p.m. Shannon Walker, 25, Reelsville, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of paraphernalia.

At 3:24 p.m. Timothy Marker Snapp, 54, no city listed, was lodged at the jail for probation violation.

At 3:50 p.m. Eric Lee Billings, 30, Greencastle, was booked in for intimidation.

At 4:15 p.m. Thomas Wayne Evans, 64, Greencastle, was arrested for operating while intoxicated and probation violation.

At 7:05 p.m. Donna Lynn Dwigans, 46, Cloverdale, was charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of a syringe and probation violation.

* At 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, Daymian Thomas-Franklin Weist, 20, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

At 4:05 p.m. Johnathan Lester Robertson, 35, Terre Haute, was booked in for parole violation

.Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to five recent property-damage accidents.

* At 5:21 p.m. Monday, Kalli A. Robbins, 20, Bainbridge, was westbound on County Road 300 North when her 1995 Honda Accord left the road and hit a tree with the front of the vehicle.

Robbins was transported to Hendricks Regional for further evaluation for head pain.

She was able to tell Deputy Adam Hull her name, but not where she was coming from or going.

Damage was listed at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 5:30 p.m. Monday, Mary Gardner, 64, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 300 East in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. She told Lt. Donnie Pettit she was passing a farm tractor pulling a Bush Hog mower and struck part of the mower that had fallen from the upright position.

The tractor driver told Pettit he moved to the right while passing a trash truck and was unaware that a lever had become unlatched, causing part of the Bush Hog to fall down.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 6:33 p.m. Monday, Daniel A. Taylor, 19, Coatesville, was westbound on County Road 550 North in a 2000 Chevrolet S10.

Taylor told Hull he fell asleep and ran off the road, at which time the truck hit two trees and two mailboxes before hitting a small section of fence and stopping.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Keegan M. Gross, 18, Bainbridge, was eastbound on County Road 500 North approaching U.S. 231 in a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Phyllis J. Owens, 79, Clinton, was northbound on U.S. 231, approaching the intersection in a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van.

Gross told Pettit that she braked and lost control on the wet pavement, sliding into the intersection and into the path of Owens' vehicle.

Owens told Pettit that Gross' vehicle slid into her path and she could not avoid the collision, hitting the passenger side front door area.

Gross was transported from the scene with neck pain. Owens was treated at the scene for an abrasion to her elbow/lower arm area.

* At 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, Riley Boswell, 20, Greencastle, was eastbound on County Road 300 East in a 1998 Ford ZX2.

He told Deputy Virgil Lanning a deer entered the road and he could not avoid the collision.

Damage was listed at $1,001-$2,500.
