County Jail

One person was booked into the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

* At 11:20 p.m., Christopher Darren Lobenthal, 48, Greencastle, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

City Police

Two recent East Side property-damage accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle mishap occurred on Warren Drive near Veterans Memorial Highway.

Officer Darrell Bunten reported the Brookie Cox, 34, Terre Haute, was stopped in traffic on Warren Drive in a 2013 Nissan Rogue when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2003 Ford, driven by Jerica Bean, 19, Greencastle.

With rain coming down hard Bean was attempting to adjust her defroster to clear the windshield when her vehicle ran into the rear of the Cox vehicle.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

* At 3:04 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle mishap occurred on the parking lot at First Financial Bank, 101 Warren Drive.

Officer Nick Eastham reported that Tricia Warren, 50, Reelsville, had parked her 1995 Buick Riviera in a space in front of the bank and while backing out in heavy rain did not see a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Kyle Dubois, 23, Greencastle, was preparing to park and a collision occurred.

Total damage was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

Officer Brad Hiatt issued citations to a pair of drivers recently.

* At 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Hiatt stopped Krystal McFadden-Smith, 28, Fillmore, on Indianapolis Road, citing her for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense and for possession of paraphernalia.

* At 11:14 p.m. Thursday, Officer Hiatt stopped Crystal Clark, 41, Greencastle, on Indianapolis Road, citing her for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department assisted with one medical run and several other dispatches recently.

* At 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, GFD investigated a gas leak at 406 W. Franklin St. The sump pump in the house stopped working, causing the basement to flood and the pilot light for the water heater went out.

* At 8:08 p.m. Tuesday, GFD removed a tree from the roadway on Airport Road.

* At 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at Greencastle Middle School. The alarm was caused by work on the system.

* At 5:22 p.m., GFD investigated a fire alarm at 330 Greenwood Ave. It was caused by cooking.

* At 10:25 a.m. Friday, GFD investigated a carbon monoxide detector alarm, but no issue was found.
