Rep. Baird appointed to interim study committee on ag, natural resources

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

District 44 State Rep. Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) has been appointed to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced in making the 2015 interim study committee assignments.

"Farms and the agriculture industry are extremely important in our state," Rep. Baird said in a statement. "I'm ready to look at issues facing the agriculture industry and finding solutions to lessen the burden on Hoosier farmers."

Interim study committees are an integral part of the legislative process. The Legislative Council meets every summer to assign topics for study during the interim, and these committees will consult experts and gather public testimony to prepare for the 2016 session.

"It is privilege to serve on this committee," Rep. Baird said, "and I will work diligently to best represent our rural community at the Statehouse."

Rep. Baird represents all of Putnam County and portions of Clay, Morgan, Owen and Parke counties.
