Back and Better Than Ever

The barricades are now gone -- hopefully for good -- and the asphalt approaches to the tracks are much smoother as the CSX Railroad crossing on U.S. 231 (Jackson Street), just north of Shadowlawn Avenue on Greencastle's north side, was reopened to traffic early Tuesday afternoon. The project was originally supposed to have been started and completed last week but repeated heavy rains and a construction equipment breakdown delayed its completion until this week.
