The new gym floor in McAnally Center at Greencastle High School was finished this month and features a darker floor with a lighter stained wood on the interior of the three-point line. Greencastle Principal Rus Hesler asked David Basan, an industrial tech teacher at the high school, and Basan's class to present him with viable options for a new gym floor. The class presented Hesler with at least six options, which Hesler critiqued. Hesler has worked at Greencastle for more than 35 years and has a knowledgeable background in graphic design. Hesler then commissioned Cincinnati Floor Co. to handle the project at McAnally. Hesler also wanted permanent practice markings such as the dots and ladders for the basketball teams imbedded into the floor, in order to save the Tiger Cub teams set-up time.
