Putnam County Hospital Radiology Department has announced Dr. Benjamin J. Meyer, MD, as the newest physician to join its growing team in partnership with Hendricks Regional Health.

A women's imaging specialist, Dr. Meyer is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.

"We are very happy to welcome Dr. Meyer to our medical staff," Radiology Department manager Paul Sanders said. "He joins a great team of radiologists, including Dr. Joseph Hunt, Dr. Joseph Mulholland, Dr. Michael Flood and Dr. Fredrick McFall."

Sanders said Dr. Meyer brings "a wealth of expertise" in all areas of radiology, including CAT Scan, MRI, nuclear medicine, general radiology, ultrasound, breast and interventional imaging.

Dr. Meyer completed his undergraduate degree at Purdue University, followed by his medical doctorate at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Following an internship with Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, he completed his diagnostic radiology residency at University of Chicago Medicine with additional focus in interventional procedures. He then obtained specialty training through a Breast and Women's Imaging Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Meyer serves on a national radiology committee advising on appropriate use of medical imaging exams and has been involved with electronic health record implementation.

"I am excited to join the Putnam County Hospital team," Dr. Meyer said. "Having grown up in Plainfield, this was always my goal, to bring top quality radiology training back to the communities that helped raise me. One of the benefits of a smaller health care system is that the physicians typically have a stronger connection and higher level of concern for their patients' well-being. I've already experienced this with the staff at Putnam County Hospital and I look forward to joining this dedicated family of healthcare providers."

The Putnam County Hospital Radiology Department is dedicated to being the trusted community resource in imaging needs by partnering with Hendricks Regional Health to provide a team of radiologists that are on-site at PCH five days a week.
