Name of moped accident victim released

FILLMORE -- Authorities have released the name of a Coatesville man who died in a moped crash early Sunday morning.

Brian Morrow, 39 years old, died after his moped left the roadway and struck the guy wire of a utility pole on County Road 50 South.

After spending more than 24 hours attempting to locate next of kin, Deputy Coroner Thomas Miller finally made contact with the man's sister in Arizona.

The moped was eastbound on County Road 50 South just east of 625 East when he failed to negotiate a curve, leaving the road and skidding across a gravel driveway before striking the wire.

Morrow then slid across the ground as his cycle continued into a tree.

It is unclear what time the accident occurred, but Morrow's body and moped were found about 6:30 a.m.

It's possible that Morrow is the same rider deputies were seeking in a 2:30 a.m. dispatch of a moped operating erratically on Indianapolis Road in Greencastle. That moped was last seen eastbound on Fillmore Road and deputies were unable to locate it.

Morrow's body was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for a Monday autopsy and toxicology test with Dr. Roland Kohr.
