CLOVERDALE -- Cooper Neese of Cloverdale's 2017 class, has received his second offer of a full ride scholarship, this time from Indiana State. Neese received the offer while on an unofficial visit to the Terre Haute campus.

Neese has had an exceptional summer with the UA Indiana Hoosiers basketball team and already has earned one scholarship offer from the University of Evansville.

"I was really taking on a big task playing with the No. 1 team in the nation," Neese said. "It's really run being able to play for them. From the very beginning it looked like I wouldn't get to play much."

Despite the inauspicious start Neese was able to turn heads and eventually catch the attention of many recruiting coaches.

"I proved myself and showed I could play with that talent," the incoming junior said. "As soon as I started playing I began getting calls. It's actually just becoming the dream.

"There's really no words for this," Neese said. "I'm coming from a small town like Cloverdale and getting to do the things I get to do now and having a family behind me as I do it. It's crazy. It's a dream."

Neese was a major weapon on Cloverdale's basketball team this past winter and his standout performance in the regional game against Crispus Attucks kicked off Neese's exceptional summer.

"We're playing top players in the country," Neese said of his Indiana Hoosiers team. "We're playing teams that are older than us even and playing in the upper grades.

Neese explained if not for injuries his team may have had a shot to play in the Adidas Invitational championship.

As for the college offers on the table, Neese has more basketball to play and more colleges to see before any decisions will be made.

"I'm definitely blessed beyond belief to get these two offers from two very good schools," he said. "I've heard from a bunch other schools. I'm actually going to Butler on Sept. 1 and then Iowa on Oct. 31."

After he's done with his offseason, Neese says he is eager to return to play in Clover Country.

"I'm excited. I want to come and show the new things I can do," he said. "I want to show that this is still Cloverdale basketball. It's tradition."
