James E. Mason

James E. Mason, 78, of Fillmore, passed away July 30, 2015 in Methodist Hospital.

Born Jan. 8, 1937 in Hendricks County, he was the son of Sylvester Mason and Lillian Louis (Keller) Mason.

He married Wanda Miller, and she survives.

James was baptized in the Fillmore Christian Church.

He was an alumni of the Fillmore High School, class of 1955 where he played for the basketball team in the state tournament in the '50s.

James had worked in Tool & Die for 28 years and enjoyed farming throughout his life. He was retired for 16 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include five sons, Greg Mason and wife Rebecca, Fillmore, Rodney Mason, Indianapolis, Scott Mason and wife Karen, Fillmore, James Perry Mason, Fillmore, and Ted Mason and wife Sandra, Fillmore; grandchildren Jamie Mason Tennis, Joshua Mason, Destiny Mason, Scottlyn Mason, Nathaniel Mason, Timothy Mason, Christian Mason; eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Everett Mason, Edith Heavin, Mallie Runnells and Meryl Smyth.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 in the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5. Burial will follow in the Fillmore Cemetery.
