CHS dedicates gym floor to Al Tucker

Wednesday, August 5, 2015
Cloverdale's new gym floor was finished Friday and ready for volleyball practice Saturday. The court is named for legendary Clover coach Al Tucker who now serves on the Indiana Hall of Fame Board of Directors. Tucker coached at Cloverdale for 17 years and led CHS to seven sectional titles in the 1970s and 1980s. The original plan for the floor called for green painted lanes however it was decided to leave them light brown. Athletic Director J.J. Wade said plans are also in the works to install new padding for the walls and curtains above the stage. (Banner Graphic/JAY LOCKETT)

UPDATE: The dedication ceremony for the new gym floor will be on a Dec. 5 basketball game against Southmont.

  • There is no one more deserving of this than Al Tucker. Thank you Cloverdale for doing this.

  • A great tribute and well deserved. Should have had a basketball game to dedicate the floor instead of volleyball practice.
