PUTNAMVILLE -- A female visitor was arrested at the Putnamville Correctional Facility on Thursday, Aug. 6 for attempting to traffic with an offender during a visit.

Donna Snyder, 37, Terre Haute, was attempting to visit with offender Randy Reedy when she allegedly trafficked three small packages that contained what is alleged to be marijuana and tobacco into a chip bag for the offender to retrieve upon arrival to the routine visit.

She was arrested by a correctional police officer for attempted trafficking and transported to the Putnam County Jail for booking.

Charges have been filed with the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office for Level 5 felony trafficking a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor trafficking tobacco.

Randy Reedy is currently serving an 18-year sentence for robbery and a six-year sentence for battery, both out of Vigo County, and has a current release date of Oct. 28, 2017.

"I commend the staff for being meticulous in their job duties and am pleased that contraband was prevented from entering the facility," PCF Superintendent Brian Smith said.
