Frances Wallace Jones

Frances Wallace Jones, age 92, passed away Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 in Greencastle.

She was a life-long resident of Coatesville.

She was born Sept. 1, 1922 in Clay Township of Hendricks County, the daughter of the late Earl Franklin Wallace and Mary Fisher Wallace.

Frances was a 1940 graduate of Stilesville High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 70 years, Wilbur Ellis Jones.

She worked for the Mill Creek School Corporation as a school bus driver for 28 years and also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years, serving as postmaster in Coatesville for many years until her retirement in 1990.

She was a member of the Coatesville Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, attending her grandchildren's ball games and was very active with her family, community, and church.

She is survived by her sister, Mary (Jake) Wallace Bryant, Coatesville; sons John E. Jones, Greencastle, James W. Jones, Greencastle and Joe E. (Susan) Jones, Coatesville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13 at noon at the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville with Pastor Dan French officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Internment will follow in Coatesville Cemetery.
