Putnam County schools compete on the golf links

DANVILLE -- The Greencastle girls' golf team was in full swing at Twin Bridges Golf Course in Danville Monday and the Tiger Cubs took the victory with 197 against the Cougars, who only had three golfers available and posted an incomplete score.

Greencastle's score of 197 is the lowest this season. Macey Masten earned the lowest score of 46, while Alexa Newlin and Lokysa Scheuermann each earned a 49. Alex Weliever finished out the official scoring for GHS with 53.

Taylor Dixon scored a 57 for North Putnam and Emily Eltz finished with a 65. Mary Timm earned a 66 for North Putnam.

Lindsey Bridgewater earned a 55 for Greencastle and Gabby Selvia scored 66 for Greencastle.

North Putnam's next match will be a four-team meet at Seeger with Southmont and Rockville on Wednesday. GHS will play Wednesday at Terre Haute South.

BRAZIL -- With Abby Walker recording the lowest score for the Clovers at Forest Park Golf Course Monday, Cloverdale earned a second-place finish Tuesday with 224 against Northview's 177 and Linton's 226.

Walker finished with 52 and Abbie Speas finished just behind her with 53. Ambrie Kidden earned a 57, Grace Rightmyer a 65 and Hannah Nichols shot a 62.

Cloverdale's next match will be against South Putnam on Monday.
